Description of the inline pallet changer TWISTER INLINE

The system guarantees a productivity of 50 pallets per hour.

Toppy Twister Inline is a stationary pallet turner provided with two roll conveyors, one on each platform. Rotations and lifting are obtained by hydraulic system. Here following we describe one specific system supplied at one of our customer with specific request. The system was composed by one fixed frame and one mobile frame. The mobile frame is designed to perform the 180° rotation cycle thanks to the fifth wheel operated by the hydraulic system placed behind the machine. The mobile frame is also designed to perform the 90° tilting cycle thanks to the hydraulic cylinder placed behind the machine. It was also equipped with two platform. Every platform is equipped with a roll conveyor operated by a gear motor for the baseboard conveying, two pneumatic baseboard stops device and one pneumatic baseboard holder device. The platforms are connected to the linear guides /rails equipped on the mobile frame and are designed to perform the lifting/lowering operations thanks to one hydraulic cylinder connected to every platform.

How does the pallet change operation take place?

Below we describe a specific logistics system sequences necessary to turn the load. Through the signals exchange communication system, the customer PLC send to the Toppy PLC the information about the incoming origin loading unit size.

  1. The load is conveyed from the customer logistic line position to the Toppy Twister platform position.
  2. The load stops against the liftable pneumatic stop device equipped on the platform. The stop device goes down while the load is clamped by the pneumatic holder device equipped on the platform position.
  3. Thanks to the hydraulic system, the platform is lifted while the platform goes down (platforms closing cycle). Thanks to the hydraulic system, the machine Toppy Twister performs the tilting cycle from 0° to 90°, then performs the  180° rotation cycle.

  2. The load is released from the pneumatic device equipped on the platform.

SECURITY SYSTEM

The MEKKANO gate combines with the components for the EASY BARRIER perimeter protection overcoming the limits of welded framing.

Using the pre-painted elements and original connecting systems with screw fastening, it is possible to assemble gates of different width in a rapid and clean way, making them ready to be installed. With the same elements, the MEKKANO gate can be prepared in the right or left configuration, with outward or inward opening.

All the configurations of the gate can be obtained either for the version with the upper support or without it. The high strength of the connecting elements makes the structure as rigid as a classic welded frame.

Our pallet changers system can suit perfectly because they are able to handle heavy goods and / or fragile products whatever is the incoming pallet, replace it with a used one and center the product. It’s also possible to carry our automatic packaging operations.

 

  1. SHIPPING with SLIP SHEET WITHOUT PALLET: It’s essential to save on the transport cost of the shipment of finished products. The pallet represents an important cost for those with a high flow of outgoing products. In addition, without the use of the pallet in the shipment, companies greatly increase the number of products that can be stowed. Our Inverter pallet changer placed at the end of the production process, are able to insert automatically a slipsheet under the load, which will be ready for shipment without the pallet. The pallet stackers will automatically stack all the pallets removed.
     
  1. SAFETY and WORK REDUCTION FOR OPERATORS: Our Pallet Inverter significantly increase safety within the process, as the manual work of operators is seriously reduced. Our pallet Inverter systems are very safe as they are equipped with advanced safety systems. The access to dangerous areas is controlled by doors with sensors, photocells or laser scanners in order to prevent dangerous cycles.
     
  1. PICKING & AGV: We offer a logistics line able to automate the composition of the load. The pallet management is automated with the AGV system, in order to facilitate the operator in the composition of the load.
     
  1. CLEANING, DEDUSTING AND SANITIZING: In the production range with our pallet inverter can be implemented a sanitization or dedusting system. We usually supply these systems to companies that need to separate the “white” area from the “grey”. Where necessary, there are inserted few particle counters in order to check the cleanliness and sanitization of the air before opening the doors. The main objective is to avoid that too high numbers of particles remain suspended in certified atmospheres of UNI EN ISO 14644-1 certified environments (Federal Standard 209D, 209E in the United States).

How does the pallet change take place?

The operation takes place by tilting the load at 120°.

How are the products loaded or unloaded from the pallet changer devices?

They can be loaded and unloaded by forklift or forklift truck.

How does it operates with fragile products?

Even the most fragile products are securely locked by the upper platform in order to safe the product.  The upper platform locks the products with a light pression managed by a shock absorber system and limit-switches that prevent the products to be crushed.

What’s the difference between “mobile” and “stationary” pallet?

The mobile pallet changers are really versatile systems as they do not need to dedicate a specific area for the operation so can be performed in any production area. The stationary pallet changers partially compensate the use of the transpallet as it allows the transport of the loads inside the dispenser.

Our stationary pallet changer are used by customers who need to change a substantial number of pallets per hour and can’t have a dedicated area dedicated for the pallet change operation.
