Description of the Inline pallet changer SIDE PUSHER

This system is able to handle over 60 pallets / hour.

The system is designed to perform the load transfer cycle of pallets placed under the load (already palletized ) by pushing the load from origin pallet to destination wooden. There will be NO slip sheet under the load to interfere with the pallet changing operation.

This is a fully automatic system that allows a very quick pallet replacement thanks to our pallet changer machine Toppy Side Pusher. Here following we describe specific case of one customer. The system quoted is equipped with one shiftable plate for load pushing connected to nr.2 linear guides/rails and controlled by the hydraulic system placed under the machine. It is equipped also with one fixed “bridge “ plate for roll conveyor connection and load support from below during the load transfer. We also supply one Retractable blade plate controlled by the pneumatic system placed under the machine. This device, placed on the destination pallet, supports and protects the load during the load transfer cycle. We also supplied 6 Motorized roll conveyor for pallet transfer.

In this system quoted is included one 1 origin pallet stacker for origin pallet storage with 14-15 pallet capacity and one destination pallet stacker for destination pallet infeed on the line with 14-15 pallet capacity.

 

How does the pallet change operation take place?

This system is able to work with different kind of pallet. Here following we describe only the logistic system sequences necessary to replace the origin plastic pallet with the destination wooden pallet.

 

  1. The plastic origin pallet with the load is conveyed from the customer logistic line to the input roll conveyor and then to the Toppy Side Pusher roll conveyor.
  2. During the origin pallet transfer, the destination pallet stacker releases the destination wooden pallet on roll conveyor. The destination pallet without the load is driven from the roll conveyor to the blade plate roll conveyor.
  1. Thanks to the pneumatic system equipped on the machine, the blade plate is placed on the destination pallet without the load.
  2. Thanks to the hydraulic system equipped on the machine, the load is pushed by the Toppy side pusher. The load is transferred from the origin pallet on position to the plate “bridge “ and then to the blade plate placed on the destination pallet on position. During the load transfer, the origin pallet is supported from the side by a mechanical bumper placed on the conveyor in order to avoid the pallet shifting/displacement during the pallet change cycle.
  3. The Toppy Side Pusher and the blade plate return to the starting conditions.
  4. The wooden destination pallet with the load is conveyed from the roll conveyor to the output roll conveyor, then to the customer logistic line.
  5. The origin plastic pallet without the load is conveyed from the roll conveyor to the roll conveyor, then is stored inside the origin pallet stacker.

  1. SHIPPING with SLIP SHEET WITHOUT PALLET: It’s essential to save on the transport cost of the shipment of finished products. The pallet represents an important cost for those with a high flow of outgoing products. In addition, without the use of the pallet in the shipment, companies greatly increase the number of products that can be stowed. Our Inverter pallet changer placed at the end of the production process, are able to insert automatically a slipsheet under the load, which will be ready for shipment without the pallet. The pallet stackers will automatically stack all the pallets removed.

 

  1. SAFETY and WORK REDUCTION FOR OPERATORS: Our Pallet Inverter significantly increase safety within the process, as the manual work of operators is seriously reduced. Our pallet Inverter systems are very safe as they are equipped with advanced safety systems. The access to dangerous areas is controlled by doors with sensors, photocells or laser scanners in order to prevent dangerous cycles.

 

  1. PICKING & AGV: We offer a logistics line able to automate the composition of the load. The pallet management is automated with the AGV system, in order to facilitate the operator in the composition of the load.

 

  1. CLEANING, DEDUSTING AND SANITIZING: In the production range with our pallet inverter can be implemented a sanitization or dedusting system. We usually supply these systems to companies that need to separate the “white” area from the “grey”. Where necessary, there are inserted few particle counters in order to check the cleanliness and sanitization of the air before opening the doors. The main objective is to avoid that too high numbers of particles remain suspended in certified atmospheres of UNI EN ISO 14644-1 certified environments (Federal Standard 209D, 209E in the United States).

 

SECURITY SYSTEM

The MEKKANO gate combines with the components for the EASY BARRIER perimeter protection overcoming the limits of welded framing.

Using the pre-painted elements and original connecting systems with screw fastening, it is possible to assemble gates of different width in a rapid and clean way, making them ready to be installed. With the same elements, the MEKKANO gate can be prepared in the right or left configuration, with outward or inward opening.

All the configurations of the gate can be obtained either for the version with the upper support or without it. The high strength of the connecting elements makes the structure as rigid as a classic welded frame.

How does the pallet change take place?

The automatic system replaces the pallet by lifting the load and lateral locking of the product.

How are the products loaded or unloaded from the pallet changer devices?

They can be loaded and unloaded by forklift or forklift truck.

How does it operates with fragile products?

Even the most fragile products are securely locked by the upper platform in order to safe the product.  The upper platform locks the products with a light pression managed by a shock absorber system and limit-switches that prevent the products to be crushed.

What’s the difference between “mobile” and “stationary” pallet?

The mobile pallet changers are really versatile systems as they do not need to dedicate a specific area for the operation so can be performed in any production area. The stationary pallet changers partially compensate the use of the transpallet as it allows the transport of the loads inside the dispenser.

Our stationary pallet changer are used by customers who need to change a substantial number of pallets per hour and can’t have a dedicated area dedicated for the pallet change operation.
